5 – Year 10: Mathematics and English
The In-Tuition Centre believes in building a strong foundation for junior level students to prepare students for the rigours of the VCE. As such, we focus on the mainstream subjects of Mathematics and English for students from Years 5 through to Year 10, closely following the Department’s curriculum (DEECD) set specifically for Victorian school levels.
We aim to complete the set curriculum within 3 terms; in Term 4, we commence the next year’s curriculum. As such, our students are always ahead of their schoolwork and peers.
Our tutors not only teach the content of the syllabus but mentor students by instilling in our students life long study skills and techniques. We aim to pass on our personal, tried and tested study skills so that our students too can succeed.
VCE Year level
We specialise in the following mainstream subjects:
Year 11: English* (Mainstream), Mathematical Methods, General Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Year 12: English* (Mainstream), Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
*We also provide private, one-on-one tuition, in the 3 different streams of English at VCE level. Please contact us for further information.
If you have a subject request that is currently not being offered, feel free to contact us and we will look into the possibility of opening a class for you.
Students benefit immensely from our classes if they attend our course regularly. Our material follow the VCAA curriculum and syllabus set for each VCE subject. We aim to complete all subject material by the end of Term 3, allowing the rest of Term 4 for exam preparation.
Our tutors not only teach the content of the syllabus but teach students life-long study skills and techniques. We pride ourselves as mentors, passing on our personal experiences and our tried and tested methods on how to develop effective study techniques; develop shortcuts on how to remember and recall information as well as exam preparation and techniques.
While we go through a careful selection process to ensure our tutors are great at what they do, we understand students need a period of time to adjust to a new environment.
As such we are pleased to offer a two-week trial for both group and private tuition.
Payment is therefore only required for the first two weeks, after which students and parents can decide together whether they would like to continue with our services.
Further, if you are interested in group tuition and enrol your child after the fifth week of Term, we can offer an additional Diagnostic Test. The test runs for 45 minutes and covers what has been taught in our lessons up until the day it is undertaken. Your child will be able to sit the test immediately upon enrolment.
This will help your child’s tutor to identify areas in which your child needs the most attention, allowing them to maximize their class time in order to help your child reach his or her full potential.
